Open Positions on the NAGPS Board

Attention Membership:

Within the next year, our NAGPS has a great potential to improve the general welfare of our students and GSAs. However, it is not possible without your support and dedication.  After ratifying the new Constitution & By-Laws at the National Conference (see summary:  http://www.nagps.org/events/annual-summary), we have eager, diligent persons on the 2010 Board of Directors that are already working hard to establish a strong NAGPS.

2010 Board Vacancies

However, we have vacancies in key positions on the 2010 Board of Directors:  Director of Communications, Legislative Concerns Chair, Social Justice Chair, Southeast Regional Chair, and West Regional Chair.  You and all of your students are eligible to run for these positions.  I urge you to forward this information on to your students.  Having a student from your institution serve on the NAGPS Board is a privilege and a great way to build leaders within your organization.

Any interested persons should submit a position platform and short biography to the newboard@nagps.org by the deadline of Friday, December 6.  If you have any question/concerns about a position or wish to individually discuss expectations/responsibilities with current or new Officers, please e-mail the Executive Committee (excomm@nagps.org).  Descriptions of the roles and responsibilities of each Director is available at:  http://www.nagps.org/files/NAGPS%20Position%20Descriptions.pdf
