Organization

Purpose

Animal Behavior & Conservation Club To inform and educate members on current trends and issues in the field of animal behavior and conservation, as well as to provide opportunities to increase the capacity to which members can contribute to the life sciences.

Anti-Racist Collective at Hunter

(ARCH)

ARCH provides a space on campus for students to explore and discuss issues and problems related to racism, as well as offer opportunities for students to work towards solutions to racism in their respective classrooms, field work and the social work practice as a whole.

Board of Student Representatives

(BSR)

BSR is composed of a group of diverse students who want to enrich student life and address the various needs of the student body of the Hunter College School of Social Work (HCSSW). BSR does this by forming committees, alliances with students, faculty and the Alumni Association, workgroups, hosting four Common Times, and sponsoring two graduations which foster and address the needs of students. BSR is open to any HCSSW student.

Eyespeak (Integrated Media Arts)

Eyespeak is the student group of the Integrated Media Arts Program. Our goal is to promote the important issues affecting our world today through the use of various media tools and techniques.

Graduate Anthropology Club

To promote the study of anthropology and its sub-fields, to facilitate graduate student attendance at academic conferences, and to bring speakers of academic value to Hunter College.

Graduate Theatre Club

To support and promote the theatre arts from within the Hunter College community, and to encourage student artists from the graduate department to express themselves artistically outside of their coursework

Gender and Sexuality Alliance

(GASA)

The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GASA) (formerly known as the Queer Alliance) is an alliance of students at the Hunter College School of Social Work who are committed to the equality of all sexual orientations, genders and identities. GASA seeks to promote inclusion, visibility, and sensitivity at Hunter of all sexual orientations, genders and identities, especially in HCSSW’s policies, spaces, and curriculum.

Graduate Urban Affairs

and Planning Association

(GUAPA)

GUAPA is an organization for the students of the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning at Hunter College. The purpose of this organization is to create an environment for the discussion and presentation of urban issues of interest to the group, to conduct events of interest to the group, to foster ideas that enhance the experience of the group, and to crate a sense of community and solidarity among students in the Urban Affairs and Planning programs.

M.A. Student Organization

(MASO)

The M.A. Student Organization’s purpose is to provide a community for the M.A. Art History students at Hunter College. We will hold lectures, help orient new students, and plan events with alumni.

MFA Student Organization

(MFASO)

To organize events pertaining to the MFA program, such as visiting artists and open studios, as well as working to improve resources and the program in general.

National Student Speech-

Language-Hearing Association

(NSSLHA)

To encourage and promote professional interest among college students in the study of human communication sciences and disorders, to provide continuity in the dissemination of professional information, and to provide a vehicle for student representation in matters of professional and academic concern.

One Year Residency Alliance

(OYR)

The purpose of the One Year Residency Alliance is to provide support, networking opportunities, and to advocate for equal opportunities for OYR students.
